Know all men by these presents that we Dolly Williams
as principal and Thomas Andrews as security are held and
firmly bound unto the State of MifsouriMissouri as follows the said
Dolly Williams in the sum of Two hundred dollars and the
said Thomas Andrews in the sum of Two hundred dollars
for the payment whereof well and truly to be made we bind
oruselves our heirs executors and administrators firmly by these
presents Sealed with our seals and dated at St. Louis this
sixteenth day of December AD 1844

The above obligation is such that whereas on the
sixteenth day of December eighteen hundred + forty four
the County Court of St. Louis County hath granted a license to the
said Dolly Williams a free negro woman to remain in the
State of MifsouriMissouri so long as she shall be of good behaviour
in accordance with an act entitled "an act more effectually
to prevent free persons of color from entering into this State
and for other purposes" approved Feb. 23 1843.

Now if the above bounden Dolly Williamsshall well
demean & conduct herself & be of good behavior during the
Continuance fo the above license in the State of MifsouriMissouri
then this obligation to be void else to remain in full
force and virtue
