Know all men by these presents that we Felis
cite Crockett as principal and Aaron
H Hackney as security are held and
firmly bound unto the State of MifsouriMissouri
in the just and full sum of four hundred
dollars for the true payment of which said
sum of money we bind ourselves one and
each of our heirs executors administrators
and afsignsassigns jointly and severally firmly
by these presents sealed with our seals and
dated this the third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three

The condition of the above obli-
gation is such that whereas the said Felis [ gap: ;reason: damage ] 
Crockett has this day obtained from  [ gap: ;reason: damage ] 
County Court of St Louis County a lice [ gap: ;reason: damage ] 
to remain in this State under the provisi [ gap: ;reason: damage ] 
of an act of the General AfsemblyAssembly of
the State of MifsouriMissouri entitled "An Act
more effectually to prevent free persons
of color from entering into this State and
for other purposes" approved the twenty third day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three. Now if the said Felicite
Crockett shall be of good behavior du-
ring the continuance of said license
then the above obligation to be void
else to be and remain in full force and
