Know all men by these presents that we
Mary Morow and Jesse Dempsy the
husband of said Mary as principal a free
person of color and George Johnson as security
are held and firmly bound unto the State
of Missouri in the just and full sum of
two Hundred dollars for the true payment
of which said sum of money we bind ourselves
one and each of our heirs executors administra-
tors and assigns jointly and severally, firmly
by these presents sealed with our seals and da-
ted this the third day of May in the year of our Lord one eighteen hundred and forty-three.

The condition of the above obli-
gation is such, that whereas the said
Mary Morow has this day obtained from
the county Court of St. Louis county a
license to remain in this state as a free
woman of color, under the provisions of an
act of the General Assembly of the State of
Missouri entitled "An Act to prevent
free person of color from entering into this
state and for other purposes" Now if the
Mary Morow shall be of good behavior
during h then the above obligation to be void
else the same to be and remain in full
force and virtue
