Know all men by these presents, that we Elizabeth Nora,
a free woman of Color, as principal; and George Geyer,
> alias George Johnson; a free man of color, as security; court
of the City & County of St. Louis; in the state of MifsouriMissouri are
held and firmly bound to the state of MifsouriMissouri , in the sum of
four Hundred Dollar: to wit: the said Elizabeth, in the sum of
two hundred Dollars and the said George Geyer; alias
Geroge Johnson, in teh sum of two hundred Dollars to the
payment of which said sums of money we bind ourselves
our & each of our heirs, executors and administrators; jointly
& severally by those presents. Sealed with our seals this
fourth day of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & forty three.

The condition of the above obligation is such; whereas,
the said Elizabether Nora; has this day obtained from this
County Court of St. Louis, County, a license to remain in this state
under the provisions of an act of the General Assembly of
the state of MifsouriMissouri , entitled an act, more effectually to
prevent free persons of color from coming into this state +
for other purposes: Now, therefore, if the said Elizabether Nora;
shall be of good behaviour; during the continuance of said
license, thru the above obligation to be void, attornies to
reside & remain in full force & virtue.
