Know all men by these presents that I, Charles Jackson
as principal and I, John R. Jones as security are
held and firmly bound to the State of MifsouriMissouri in teh sum of
Two hundred dollars for the payment of which sum well and
truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors and legal representatives.__

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas
the County Court of teh County of Saint Louis has this day granted
license to the said Charles Jackson to reside in the State of
MifsouriMissouri so long as he shall be of good behavior, in ac-
cordance with an act entitled "an act more effectually to prevent
free persons of color from entering this State and for other
purposes approved February 23d 1843_ Now if the above
bounden Charles Jackson shall be of good behavior, as re-
quired by said act, then this bond to be void and of no
effect otherwise to remain in full force and virtue._

In testimony whereof we hereto set our hands and
seals at St. Louis this twenty first day of June A.D. eighteen hundred and forty three
