Know all men by these presents that we George
M Baker as principal and Thos G. Martin
as security are held and firmly bound unto the
State of Missouri in the just and full sum
of Two hundred dollars each for the true payment
of which sum of money we bind ourselves executors
adminsitrators and assigns jointly and severally
by these presents sealed with our seals and dated
this twenty seventh day of March Eighteen hundred+ fourty four The Condition of this obligation is
such that whereas George M Baker has this day
obtained from the County Court of the County
of Saint Louis a license to remain in this
State of Missouri as a free person of color
under the provisions of an act entitled "An
act to more effectually prevent free persons of
color from entering into the State of Missouri
and other purposes" Now the condition of this
Bond is such that of the said George Baker
shall be of good behaviour during the continuance
of said License then the above obligation to be
null and void Otherwise to be and remain
in full force and virtue in Law
