Know all men by these presents that
we Charlotte Cabanné, a free person of color
as principal, and Julie Cabanné
as security, are held and firmly bound to
the State of Missouri in the sum of one
Hundredthousand dollars, money of the United States
to be paid to the said State of Missouri
for the payment of which well and truly
to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs,
executors and administrators firmly by these
presents. Sealed with our seals and dated
this twenty second day of December eighteen hundred and forty six.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said Charlotte Cabanné
a free person of color as aforesaid, has made
application to the county court for the county
of St Louis for a license to remain in the State
of Missouri and whereas the same has been granted to her under the provisions of the
statute in such case made and provided
now if the said Charlotte Cabanne shall be of
good behavior then this obligation to be null
and void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
