Artist Statement - BULK brings together years of drawings and texts made by
the artist whilst travelling to make and install exhibitions far from home. Personal
material is interwoven with drawn texts that question, confront, chart and document
notions of belonging; displacement and mobility. Title Description - Following in the tradition of artists’ books in the form of scrapbooks, Bulk offers a collection of diary entries, snapshots, cut
outs from newspapers and magazines and found pieces of paper on which the artist
has written. This assortment of images suggests a travelogue, or rather thoughts
on traveling while both in transit and back at home. While this book may have some
similarities to other artists’ books in its genre, it is unique in its form. The
pages are hole punched and bound with glue. As such, they can be removed and
reorganized by the reader in a ring binder. 29 June 2009 (printedmatter.org). Physical Description - off-set litho; glue binding (no spine). Paperback book with ringbinder holes and perforated pages.
