Notes: Influences - I was influenced to explore the urbanization of the downtown area by Stephanie Beamer's book, Progress
Artist Statement - In this book a changed relationship with a brother relates to a division between the river city of St. Louis and its distant suburbs.  Through words and photos the author traces a parting between himself and his suburbanite brother whose move from the city typifies the migration of the affluent Americans away from the urban center.
Title Description - An examination of the simultaneous growth and decay of downtown St. Louis. Two perspectives are investigated; first, the shape of the skyline as it expands over the decades and second, the mapping of the land, which indicates a shift in the industrialization and population center from the downtown area to the suburbs.
Physical Description - Tunnel book cased in a hardbound cover. Tied on three sides with ribbon. Printed on 3-ply Bristol Vellum and Hahnemule Bugra using an inkjet printer.
