Influences - The poems “America” by Allen Ginsburg, “Paterson” by
William Carlos Williams, Bernd and Hilla Becher’s photography of water towers
and blast furnaces. Artist Statement - After finding the map and transcript from a 1960 bus
tour around North Saint Louis, I documented the sites in their current state.
The story that I uncovered was heartbreaking, especially paired with its
jubilant history. For me, this is symbolic of the problem of Saint Louis: of
