This site was produced by the participants in a Workshop on the Construction and Pedagogical Use of Digital Archives, a workshop jointly sponsored by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the Center for Humanities, the Digital Library, and the Special Collections Department of Olin Libraries -- all at Washington University in St. Louis. The workshop was led by Professor Joseph Loewenstein with the assistance of Andrew Rouner, Director of the Digital Library, and was organized by Kathy Atnip, Director of Arts and Sciences Web Applications and Support.
Technical training was provided by both Professor David Gants of the University of New Brunswick and Andrew Rouner; Aaron Drake of the Arts and Sciences Computing Center and Eric Diamond of the Student Technology and Resources (STaRS) program at Washington University provided technical support; the technical expertise of two workshop participants, Christian Jacobs of the Department of Romance Languages and Literature and Crystal Alberts of the English Department, was crucial.
Special thanks are due to the staff of Special Collections -- Anne Posega, Erin Davis, and John Hodge -- without whose assistance and encouragement this project would not have been possible.
Finally, the fellows of this workshop want to thank each other.
We'll be delighted if communal hard work, dedication, and a willingness
to embrace technology in the humanities have made "Final
Versions" a valuable tool to students and scholars.
