About the Project

The Red Brush collection represents a collaboration between Digital Library Services, a unit of the Washington University Libraries, and Professor Beata Grant. While the heart of this project is the fully searchable database of Chinese texts by women, additional teaching tools and resources, such as regularly updated bibliographies of secondary scholarship in both Chinese and Western languages, will also be available at this site. We anticipate that The Red Brush will serve as an important teaching tool and resource for students and scholars in a wide array of disciplines, including Chinese and East Asian studies, women and gender studies, and comparative literature.
